Hi,

Spiders!

yup, those scary, long legged house spiders that run around the house at this time of the year...

yeah, yeah, I know, we don't actually have any "real" spiders like there are in pretty much every other country in the world, especially "down under"...

in fact, the spider that particularly "freaks me out", especially as they have a real habit of charging across open floor/carpet areas and then just stopping and looking at you, AND they're REALLY active at this time of the year as it's apparently mating season, is called tegenaria duellica, and it has a relative called tegenaria agrestis that is pretty poisonous!

I was a bit perturbed to discover this when I did the research the other night, having just leapt on another hairy legged fiend squish it in to "submission", but then I read some more and was VERY relieved to find that particular variation is only found in the USA... phew! ;-)
