Is blogging - or rather, making money from blogs - dead?

A lot of people have been asking me about blogging, and one question seems to tower above all of them -

  "Is it too late to make money from blogging?"

More and more people are getting frustrated with the income that they make from their blogs. With stuff like Twitter and FaceBook hogging the spotlight, people tend to think that blogging is dead, or dying slowly..
 
The problem is this: A lot of bloggers rely too much on advertising income, which is perhaps the worst way to make money from blogs.

The fact is, there are tons of easier ways to generate a full time income from your blog instead of joining a few ad networks and displaying banners all over your blog.
